Today, the department of CPSM trains bachelors, masters of professional and scientific direction, and doctors of philosophy in two specialties: 131 – Applied Mechanics and 133 – Industrial Machinery Engineering:
Industrial Machinery engineering. Educational program: Engineering of equipment for the production of polymer and construction materials and products. The specialty involves the development of parts and mechanisms, manufacturing processes of polymer, composite and construction materials and products from them, 3D modeling and design of processes and equipment. The application of computer-aided design (CAD) systems is distinguished by the diverse use of methods of mathematics, programming, and artificial intelligence. The ability to work with CAD tools is extremely important for any development engineer, because without it is impossible to produce modern equipment.
Production and processing of polymer and composite materials into products and parts has been one of the leading places in the world industry in recent years. Products made of plastics and composites have firmly entered our lives, both in everyday life and in many industries. 3D printing technology is rapidly developing, primarily in the fields of mechanical engineering, aircraft construction, shipbuilding, pharmaceuticals, and others.
Construction is one of the most important branches of any state. Increasing the efficiency of construction involves the use of more advanced building materials. Modeling and designing equipment for their production is currently extremely relevant.
Applied mechanics. Educational program: Engineering of packaging and packaging equipment. Packaging is the face of any product. Improving the aesthetic and consumer properties of packaging products is an urgent task today. The specialty involves modern methods of training and employment at leading enterprises. Much attention is paid to both the theoretical foundations of the specialty and practical classes, in which students create their own packaging design, implement its 3D models, and then design equipment for placing certain products in this packaging.
Students of the department study the basics of computational mathematics, programming, modeling and optimization of technological processes, methods of finding technical solutions and experimental research, as well as development and operation of automated systems and computer design technology.
The department’s laboratories are equipped with modern technological and research equipment used at leading enterprises. Interesting classes with students are held in multimedia and computer classes. Classes are equipped with the most modern equipment, the latest computers and software, including our own development.
Currently, the basis of our scientific work is mathematical and computer modeling of the processes of plastic processing, 3D printing, production of building materials, design and modernization of chemical, high-temperature and energy-intensive equipment of graphite, aluminum and other industries. The department maintains relations with institutions in Poland, the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Japan, China and other countries of the world and exchanges scientific information, specialists and students. Specialists and students of the faculty carry out scientific orders of the world’s leading enterprises for the development of automated design systems, production of the latest materials and modern equipment.
